It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....πŸŽ„

We had a great week enjoying some festive activities, as we head towards Christmas. Pip, our amazing cook, and her kitchen staff, prepared Christmas dinner for us all over two days. The delicious food was served by the staff as we enjoyed Christmas music. We found out that Keith, our Site Manager, does not know how to floss....but he is great at serving gravy! A huge thank you to Pip, the kitchen staff and Midday Supervisors for a lovely Christmas dinner in our bubbles.

Nursery and Reception filmed their retelling of ‘Wriggly Nativity’ which is absolutely gorgeous. Well done to all the children and staff, but special thanks to Mrs Wynn for coordinating and Mr Bula-Edge for filming. We look forward to sharing it with the pupils and staff, this week.

The Santa Dash was a fun way to close the week with a bit of exercise in our Christmas Clobber! Thank you Miss Yates & Mr Benton for organising this. We were proud to share that OVPA were getting active in Christmas style. Great job!

We now have 4 days left before we finish for the Christmas break. A reminder that our last day is on Thursday. This week, children may wear their Christmas jumpers and accessories if they would like to - on any day or every day. Just an option as Christmas approaches. Mr Benton and I will be telling Christmas stories, virtually, every day this week for the children to enjoy and the staff have some lovely festive plans.

We have been notified of a number of children who are heading in to a period of isolation. Thank you for letting us know, so we can code the absence correctly and thank you for keeping everyone safe. Isolation is an important part of keeping others safe. Please don’t take any risks if you have been in contact with someone with Covid-19 or if you or someone in your household has symptoms. Some schools have had to close due to the number of rising cases. We have been incredibly fortunate, so my number one focus is getting everyone to the end of the week covid-free and healthy. Please continue to support me in doing this.

For those that we won’t see this week, we wish you a very happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the new year. Thank you for supporting us through a very unusual and difficult time to ensure that the children have always been a priority.

We are all in this together!

Jo Campbell
